František Dubek sa narodil pod Slanskym pohorim v malom vychodoslovenskom mestecku Sečovce. Cely zivot az dodnes sa zaujimal predovstekym o vytvarne umenie. Patri k tym, ktori uz od detstva obdivovali krasu prirody aj umenia. Obdiv prerastol do aktivnej tvorby. Uz ako chlapec vynikal v kresleni, z roznych materialov si skladal miniaturne objekty ako boli zapalkove a spilkove slovenske vidiecke chalupky, vyrezavanie ludovych motivov na prutikoch z vrby, formovanie plastelinovych figuriek...
V komunistickom vtedajsom Ceskoslovensku sa nemohol volne a slobodne prejavit. Po strastiplnej ceste za slobodou v Rakusku, Nemecku a Taliansku, a vdaka nezlomnej viere v Boha, sa konecne dostal do Ameriky.
Uz plnych 20. rokov venuje umeleckej tvorbe, maluje pocas celeho obdobia. Maliarska tvorba sa stala naplnou jeho zivota. Neunavuje ho. Naopak, dodava mu prepotrebny zivotny elan. Ako maliar zacal malovat ciernym perom, neskor dalsimi technikami. Jeho prace su tvorene ciernym uhlom, akvarelom, pastelom, olejovymi farbami, ciernym perom, sklom, rozne techniky nozom, mix cierne pero a pastelove farby a dalsi mix farieb a technik. Obrazy umelca reprezentuju slobodu, nabozensku tematiku. Svetle ako aj zive farby hovoria o jeho slobodnom duchu.
Frantisek Dubek tvori tematicky v oblasti Texasu, tematicnost obrazov nas presvedcuje o velkej laske k prirode na americkom kontinente ako je Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California. Ocarila ho jej krasa, malebnost pohori, nadherna priroda, ako i tvoriva originalita. Pocity krasy a osobiteho podhladu na prirodu americkeho kontinentu a prostredie, do ktoreho sa autor vracia uz dvadsat rokov, je umocneny prostou ludskou laskou k prirode Texasu-jeho druhemu domovu. Jeho obrazy ziaria, ukludnuju, hladanie harmonie s prirodou ci Bohom robi z jeho obrazkov krasnu oazu, v ktorej sa mozno na chvilu zastavit, zamysliet aj unasat do mimozemskeho vzdialeneho sveta.

Je clenom "Texas Fine Art Associatian ". Sloboda je pre autora na prvom mieste. Zije a tvori v USA, autorove prace su takisto vystavovane v jeho sukromnom atelieri v San Angelo, Texas.
Frantisek DUBEK Date of birth: September 14, 1956 Place of birth: Secovce Frantisek Dubek was born near The Slanske Mountains, in a small town Secovce in Eatern Slovakia. All his life he has been interested in fine art.He belongs to the people who have admired the beauty of nature and art. His admiration resulted in his active creative work. As a young boy he excelled at drawing, he made miniatures of various materials for example Slovak country cottages made of matches, carving folk motives out of osier, shaping plasticine small figures. He couldn ´t find expression freely so he decided to find luck in the West. Frantisek Dubek escaped hungry, cold with a big risk far away from the communist regime to find freedom. He emigrated from Czechoslovakia in 1984 by ship down the Danube to Austria. He asked for political asylum in Austria but he was denied without explanation. He thought of going to Germany and he did it after a few days.He asked for political asylum there but he didn ´t have a visa so he was jailed and escorted handcuffed like a criminal back to Austria.Without language skills, friends, money. He tried to survive by hired work, he tried not to become depressed, his belief in God helped him to be strong, to find his way through life. His dream was to get to Amerika so he decided to go to Italy secretly, hidden in a train to Rome he was afraid of being caught and jailed but he hoped to be lucky. After many troubles he got to Rome where he went to a sponsor charity agency and by its help he got to a free country AMERIKA. It is admirable that he has been making fine art for twenty year, he has been painting during all this period. Painting has become the meaning of his life. He is not tired of it.On the contrary, it gives spirit to his life. As a painter he began painting by black pen. Later he tried other techniques. His paintings are made by charcoal, aquarelle, pastel, black pen, glass, other techniques by knife, mix black pen and pastel and other mix of colors and techniques. His pictures represent freedom and religious topic. Light and bright colors speak about his free spirit. Frantisek Dubes Works thematicly in the area of Texas, thematics of his pictures persuades us about his love to the nature on American continent such as Texas, New Mexico, California.He was impressed by its beauty, mountains, nature and its originality. Feelings of beauty and special view of the American continent where the author has been returning for twenty years are intensified by his love to the nature of Texas – his second home. His drawings shine, make you feel calm, looking for harmony with nature and God makes an oasis of his pictures where you can stop for a moment and think of the world. Frantisek Dubek ´s pictures have been exhibited since 1989. He took part in several exhibitions connected with competitions: He won the the first position at the exhibition in Los Banos, California He had the third position at the exhibition in San Angelo, Texas. He got the 1st and 2nd position at the exhibition called GOODFELLOW in San Angelo, Texas, Articles about the author are published in California, Merced Yuba City, San Angelo Texas. There are exhibitions from the east to the west of the USA, the pictures are exhibited in galleries in Texas, Arizona, California. Frantisek Dubek has received many awards, he is a member of Texas Fine Art Association.
